East Meets West and the A-Z Challenge

This winter, I had a wonderful opportunity - to perform in China. I was invited by Pana Wakke, a company headed by the amazing SONIA ZIVKOVIC. Of course, I accepted! And what a fabulous trip it was!  She took me all over - up and down the eastern part of China - through cobbled streets, into hutongs and down lanes, to fabulous restaurants, up and down enormous malls filled with pricey stores, past poor neighborhoods, into old neighborhoods, to museums and and heritage sites. She introduced me to wonderful people. She gave me lots of opportunity perform and teach workshops to kids, parents and teachers  in bilingual schools and international schools. We talked and talked and talked.

One early morning in Shanghai, over a large latte at Costa, a chain of coffee shops in China (and elsewhere?) with the biggest lattes, I told Sonia about the A-Z Blog Challenge. She was intrigued when I told her my topic would be China. We decided it would be fun to do it together! Each day we would both blog on the same topic.

Tomorrow, when the Challenge begins, we will both write on:  A is for Air Quality.

Check out Sonia's blog each day: written selfie
